Gillian Hewitt,
M.Ed. has over 30 years of teaching, coaching and counselling experience. A
published writer, she is certified in the Epstein Technique of oral history
interviewing, and affiliated with the Turning Memories into Memoirs™
international network of lifewriting teachers.
“My father loved to
tell stories about the 'old days'. As kids, we would roll our eyes and say,
“Not that story again!” Now he is gone, and so are his stories. I didn’t
know how important they were until I didn’t have them. I want to help other
people to preserve those memories for themselves and their loved ones.”
Keepsake Memoirs
was founded in 2002 and Gillian has produced over 20 personal and family
histories since that time. In October 2006, she was the first Canadian
elected to the Board of Directors for the Association of Personal
Historians, an international association of professionals dedicated to
preserving personal histories (www.personalhistorians.org).
